March 28 – 11:30 local time (10:00 MSK) jointly developed Russian-Indian BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was tested in India.

The missile was launched from the mobile launcher at the Bangalor test range, Orissa. Software of the missile guidance system had improved algorithms. The missile flew 290 km at the speed М=2.8 and hit the assigned target to high precision on the dive trajectory.
Telemetry data from ground and ship based stations confirmed that the missile flew along the programmed trajectory. Representatives of the Indian Armed Forces were present at the test.
Director of BrahMos Aerospace Sivathanu Pillai informed that «the missile was hundred percent effective during the test».
BrahMos Aerospace presented the BrahMos missile during Defexpro-2012 exhibition which opened March 29 in New Delhi.
