History

In 1928, aircraft repair shops of Saint-Petersburg were merged into Plant ¹47, which became the first predecessor of PA Strela.

In 1941, Plant ¹47 was evacuated to Orenburg.

In 1961, Plant ¹47 was renamed to Orenburg Machine-building Plant.

In 1968, Production Association Strela was founded by the Order of Minister of General Machine Building of the Soviet Union ¹ 185 dated 16.04.1968 on the basis of Orenburg Machine-building Plant.

In 1999, PA Strela was renamed to Federal State Unitary Enterprise Production Association Strela.

In 2006, FSUE Production Association Strela was reorganized into Open Joint-Stock Company (JSC PA Strela).

In 2015, Open Joint-Stock Company PA Strela was converted to Joint-Stock Company Strela.

In 1961, the plant was awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labour by the Decree of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated 17.07.1961 for the successful fulfillment of government assignments for development of special machinery.

In 1971, the plant was awarded with the Order of Lenin by the Decree of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, dated 18.01.1971, for the successful implementation of plan and organization of fabrication of new machinery.

In 1984, the plant was awarded with the Order of the October Revolution by the Decree of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated 26.12.1984 for the mastering of serial production of special machinery.

Since 2007 the plant is a part of Military-Industrial Corporation NPO mashinostroyenia.

Major activities: development, production, sale and modernization of domestically produced rocket-and-space hardware and radioelectronic equipment, including development of advanced combat systems equipped with cruise missiles, strategic missile systems, all-weather high resolution space surveillance systems, data management and control systems of radioelectronic equipment for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation; production, sale, aftersale service and licensed production of exportable rocket-and-space hardware and radioelectronic equipment; production, sale, aftersale service and licensed production of export goods based on dual-use technologies in the spheres of aerospace and information technologies.
